Advent Boat Tour: Frozen Reflection / Kanefart på elva

Winter Boat Tour on the Nidelva
Discover Trondheim from the water on a scenic winter boat tour along the Nidelva River. Cruising past historic warehouses, bridges, and waterfront landmarks, guests enjoy a calm and atmospheric journey through the heart of the city. With warm blankets and engaging storytelling from an English-speaking guide, this tour offers a unique and comfortable way to experience Trondheim’s winter charm from a new perspective.

The boat tour departs from Ravnkloa (Munkegata 66) at 17:00 every Friday and Saturday during Advent. Availability is shown in the calendar when you proceed to booking. The tour lasts 1 hour and takes you up the river and through the canal.

If a tour is cancelled, we will do our best to contact all participants. Payments are automatically refunded if the cancellation is due to us. Please arrive at the pickup point 10 minutes before departure.

The tour is not recommended for toddlers with no experience being outdoors in cold winter weather, but it is suitable for children aged 5 and up who are comfortable with winter conditions. The boat is decorated for Christmas, and our skipper will keep you warm with pelts and blankets.

We hope you enjoy our river version of a traditional horse-drawn sleigh ride.
Wishing you a wonderful Advent season and a merry Christmas.

Snowshoe and Dogsledding – Practical Information

Snowshoeing & Dog Sledding in Bymarka – A Taste of Local Winter Life (3 hours)
Meet our friendly huskies and enjoy a relaxed winter experience focused on kos and hygge — the Norwegian art of slowing down and enjoying the moment. This tour is less about speed and more about being outdoors together, just like locals spend their winter weekends.

Guests try both dog sledding and snowshoeing, moving at an easy pace through the quiet forests of Bymarka. Along the way, there is time to connect with fellow travellers, learn about local outdoor traditions, and enjoy the calm of the winter landscape.

Midway, we gather in a traditional lavvo for a cup of warm coffee, sharing stories and warming up by the fire. Led by local guides, this experience offers an authentic glimpse into how Norwegians enjoy their Sundays in the forest — simple, social, and deeply cozy.

A genuine winter outing built around nature, community, and memorable moments.

Departure: 11:00
Meeting time: 10:50 at Ravnkloa (10 minutes before departure)
